Known mostly for its port and industrial zones, Haifa is the third-largest city in Israel. Nevertheless it offers also a few toursitic attractions which are worth a visit. Most famous is the Bahai world center, whose main attraction is the “Shrine of the Bab“. It is a UNSECO World Heritage site and a pilgrimage destination for Bahai pilgrims from all over the world.
Other attractions in the city include the Templars Colony, “Elijah’s Cave“, and the Carmelite Monastery “Stella Maris“. which relates to Elijah’s hiding from Queen Jezebel after slaying the Ba’al Ashera prophets (I King 18).
